“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.”

- Colossians 4:2-6

Dear Foundry Family,
What does it look like when a church devotes itself to prayer, lives wisely among outsiders, and speaks with grace? A glimpse of it is in your hands—not in the form of programs or budgets, but in changed lives, open homes, persistent prayers, and countless gospel conversations that answer the deepest questions of the human heart.

This report celebrates what God has done through you in 2025. But I want to be clear about something: helping people know, follow, and share Jesus isn't the work of a staff team that you support from the sidelines. It's our work. The pastors and staff at Foundry exist to equip you, encourage you, and lift you up as we do the real ministry—as we open our lives to neighbors, pray for doors to open for the gospel, and bear witness to the mystery of Christ with both clarity and grace.

The question for each of us isn't "How is the church doing?" but "Am I—and are we together—making the most of every opportunity to live wisely and speak graciously so that others encounter Jesus through us?" That's the call of Colossians 4—to be watchful, thankful, prayerful people who know how to answer everyone because our words are seasoned with both grace and salt.

As we enter 2026, I'm calling us to three rhythms that embody this calling:

Prayer - Watchful, thankful conversation with God, asking Him to open doors for the gospel and give us clarity in proclaiming Christ.

Hospitality - Wise, intentional welcome that makes the most of every opportunity by opening our homes, our tables, and our lives to outsiders.

Witness - Grace-filled, genuine conversation that boldly proclaims the mystery of Christ in both word and deed.

These aren't activities to add to your schedule. They're the heartbeat of what it means to be the church. When you pray, welcome, and witness, you ARE the church on mission.

The pages that follow show what happens when God's people actually live this way. Lives have been transformed. Families have been restored. The lost have been found. And it happened because you showed up—not to watch ministry happen, but to be prayerful, wise, and grace-filled witnesses to Jesus.

Thank you for living out our mission with such faithfulness. May God continue to shape us into a people devoted to prayer, wise in our actions, and always ready to proclaim Christ clearly and graciously.

Because of Jesus and for His glory,

Lead Pastor,
Ray Hughes

WORSHIP

Worship remains at the heart of how we help people Know, Follow and Share Jesus. Last year, we witnessed a holy avalanche of baptisms and public professions of faith in Christ, innovative expressions of exaltation––such as worshipping through sign language (with the leadership of our kids) and pioneering an FSM worship band––along with an increased hunger for the glory of God to be on full display in our worship gatherings. The Foundry Choir and Orchestra continue to be a place of fellowship, discipleship and service and we are getting ready to host our 9th semester of the Foundry Choral Leadership Program, a developmental program for advanced singers from Cypress Fairbanks ISD. Our contemporary worship teams continue to grow and lead, partnering with Kids Ministry at both campuses to increase engagement in even the youngest heart. As we embark upon a new year, our hearts desire is to continue fostering a culture of presence-oriented worship, undergirded by consecrated prayer, as we orient all our endeavors around the mission of the church.

Although I accepted Christ at a young age, I would say I started my true journey with God about 20 years ago. Last year I found myself feeling frustrated and dry and could not find peace. I cried out to the Lord and reached out to the Foundry for prayer and direction. I became involved in a couple of small groups that were truly a divine appointment for me. God who can do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine showed up, and in His faithfulness restored my peace and continues to do tremendous work not only in me, but in my family. I am so thankful to be His child.

Joining a small group has greatly improved my relationship with Christ and with Foundry. It has motivated me to deepen my understanding of the Bible and to engage more with the Sunday sermons. We’ve also made friends who are in similar stages of life, facing the same challenges as parents of young children. While we have always loved Foundry, being part of this small group has truly made it feel like home.

Missions

Invest your resources in heaven because where your treasure is there your heart will be also.
— Matthew 6:19-21

Foundry’s heart was found in incredible mission and outreach engagement this past year!  It was amazing to watch relationships with Christ strengthen as we invested our time, talent and resources in God’s work both locally and globally. We were able to serve 231 kids, 71 families, fill 95 food boxes and provide 127 families with gift cards as over 300 Foundry families participated in Season of Hope.  We sent 30 people out to share the good news of Jesus in Costa Rica and Mexico. The Judy Dierker Holiday Market raised over $35,000 with close to 100 volunteers and over 100 vendors. Foundry hosted 12 services throughout the year at CyFair Helping Hands engaging volunteers, families and worship teams to lead and feed hundreds of people. Through our partnership with Compassion International, Foundry is actively sponsoring 201 kids. And, to round out the year, over $27,000 was collected during our Christmas Eve offering to be used by FAMM and our mission partners to carry out relief in the most devastated areas of Sri Lanka. We can’t wait to see what God has in store next…

Foundry’s Kids Ministry exists to help guide kids from birth through 5th grade as they grow to Love God and Love Others! Through weekly Sunday programming, worship and special events, Foundry Kids experienced engaging Bible teaching and lots of opportunities for fun and fellowship in 2025. Some highlights include SuperStart in the winter for our 4th & 5th graders, VBS in June (who can imagine summer without it?), and movie & missions night in December. We also welcomed a new member to the staff this year… Emely Orellana joined us as the Kids Ministry Director at Jones Road with oversight in Kids Ministry & Kids Ministry in Spanish!

I’m incredibly grateful to be joining the staff at Foundry Church. I’ve felt genuinely welcomed by the leadership, volunteers, and church family, and I’m excited to partner with kids ministry leaders (volunteers) and parents to serve alongside our team to help plant seeds of faith in the next generation, trusting God to bring the growth.

Avg. Weekly Attendance

Foundry Student Ministries continues to be a place where middle and high school students can learn, share and grow in their faith while engaging in meaningful and fun fellowship. Since 2024, we’ve seen a 68% increase in weekly attendance across both campuses! 2025 also saw a period of transition in this ministry as we welcomed two new directors to the leadership team: Jason Perkins serving at Fry Rd and Andy Howard serving at Jones Rd. We’ve seen steady growth in student leadership and service at both campuses and the formation of a youth praise band. Wednesday night Bible studies and Sunday morning groups have continued to develop as a time where students can share testimony openly and honestly and be met with Biblical nourishment and encouragement while Sunday evenings at Jones provide lots of activity! In the summer, a team of 34 students and adults served at Camp Beloved and Beyond, assisting campers with differing abilities during their week away from home. It was beautiful, transformative and exhausting in the very best way! The fall finished out with a retreat to Camp Eagle with 30 students from both campuses. How faithful God has been in 2025! We pray excitedly for what is in store in 2026.

At the Core of our Spanish service is a deep commitment to serving God in every way possible, not only within the church walls but also throughout our community. We joyfully welcome those who come to the feet of Jesus, embracing with open hearts. Our Mission is to be the hands and feet of Christ. This year, the initiative of launching a leadership multiplication system has successfully grown our team of volunteer leaders. Our prayer remains steadfast: that God will raise up more workers for his harvest, empowering us to accomplish even greater things for His kingdom.

At Foundry en Español, our mission is to bring the glory of God in Jesus Christ by affirming, strengthening, establishing, and perfecting disciples for the transformation of the world.

Care & Support

Recovery at Foundry

Foundry’s recovery ministry began in 1988 with a Wednesday AA meeting and continues today with 10 different addiction support groups meeting across both campuses. Listening to the stories of people in recovery gives us a window into the deep and often hidden struggles of addiction. No matter the details of their stories, one truth remains constant: Jesus is always the good news and the answer. Foundry’s role has always been to help people see and experience that connection by not only providing a safe space but to seize the opportunity to share the Good News (KNOW, FOLLOW, SHARE). Our mission is to help people see that Jesus can help with their struggles and weaknesses.

Foundry recovery reaches into a community, which by nature, is bruised and damaged. It’s a marathon, not a sprint! It is slow but meaningful, life-giving work.

Caring and prayer ministries continued to offer many levels of care to those in and outside of the Foundry Church family.  From our Homebound Communion and Prayer Teams at each campus, hospital visits, weekly prayer cards & letters of encouragment, a weekly prayer & care email, campus prayer groups to GriefShareStephen Ministry and Surviving the Holidays… pastors, lay leaders and staff embodied grace and care for those in need.

In dealing with those in Recovery I have built friendships and relationships by being a physical presence and letting them know “we are here to help”. It’s a slow process with many disappointments but I’ve learned to celebrate the victories and press on to overcome the failures.
